When you want to create unique, custom photos, it’s important to work closely you’re your photographer to achieve the vision you have in mind. Whether you’re looking to capture a special moment, create a portfolio, or promote a product or brand.
First and foremost, it’s important to communicate your vision clearly to your photographer. This means providing them with a detailed brief of what you’re looking to achieve with the photoshoot. Be specific about the type of images you want to create the style and mood you’re going for, and the overall look and feel of the final product.
When you send an enquiry, I will work with you to create your vision, often creating a look board to ensure that I understand exactly what you’re trying to achieve with you style and look. If you have examples of images that you like, that’s great! This way I can understand your style and what you are looking for.
Location, location, location
Think about what you want in the background of your photos. Do you want a crisp, clean, professional backdrop or do you want a specific location for the images? Whether it’s a natural outdoor setting or a more urban and industrial location, talk to me about what you’re looking for. Whether you want one of these classic Brisbane locations or talk to me about some of my go to locations for specific types of photoshoots.
Timing
The time of day can greatly impact the lighting and overall feel of the end product. If you want a light, soft look, a morning or evening photoshoot would be better suited. However if you want a more dramatic and moody look, a photoshoot during the middle of the day would be better. Night-time photoshoots can also create dramatic photoshoots with a well-lit subject emerging from a dark background.
Bringing it all together
A custom photoshoot requires a collaboration between you and your photographer. By communicating your vision clearly, choosing the right location, and being open to your photographer’s suggestions, you can create a set of beautiful, unique images that perfectly capture your vision.
When you book with me, I will often schedule a discovery session where we can talk through all of these details and I can help to create exactly what you imagined. Booking a photographer may feel like a luxury or a waste of money, but the result will be a set of unique, high-quality images that perfectly capture your vision. You will receive an online gallery and the option to purchase professional prints right there.
